The rich snippet or rich snippet is an element that appears in Google results pages. This takes the form of a small description just below the link pointing to the website. If this functionality was implemented by Google, it is with the aim of providing rapid and coherent information to the Internet user . It’s also a great way to make content easier to understand.

The different types of rich snippets

In total, there are 9 different rich snippets:

• You find the author snippet which includes the author's name, links to related articles by the same author and the author's photo.
• The Organization rich snippets provide location information in relation to an organization. You will find opening hours, prices, contact information and customer reviews. This is very practical information when you need to find out about an establishment.
• Event snippets are used to provide additional information to an event. For example, the times, the date or even the location. With this same snippet, you have three display options that you can configure.
• The Music Album Snippets ensures the presentation of links to other titles of an album, sometimes to the lyrics of a song, if the latter are available.
• The People Snippets this time give information about a person, their profession, the place in which they practice their profession or the name of the company which employs them. In some cases you can also find his photo.
• Product rich snippets are a form of description of a product in which you find its rating, the photo of the product as well as its price.
• The Recipe enriched extract is dedicated, as its name suggests, to the preparation of a cooking recipe. In the program, you will find the preparation time, the cooking time, the necessary ingredients, the number of calories and the ratings.
• Review Snippets are rated on a 5-star scale. You will find enriched extracts on all the comments.
• Video Snippets allows you to obtain a screenshot of the video. If it is content published on Dailymotion or YouTube, the implementation is carried out automatically by Google.
